Tutoring Services Offered
Elementary Math Sessions
Confidence in math comes from understanding and successfully practicing the traditional processes of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. At Daniel Tutoring students practice math and gain confidence through hands on methods and fun math games.
In the first session each student is given a math evaluation to determine which math concepts the student thoroughly understands and which concepts need further explanation and learning support. Lessons are then planned to develop the student’s understanding of traditional math concepts using math manipulatives and learning games.

Beginning Reading
Charlie Bear is a unique, important part of Daniel Tutoring’s beginning reading sessions. Younger students play a lot of fun and gain confidence by reading with Charlie Bear there to help. Mrs. Sharon’s unique stories about Charlie and his friends build phonetically and allow students to practice reading in a fun and exciting way by meeting and interacting with the characters in the stories.
Intermediate Reading
Daniel Tutoring engages older students in the reading process by structuring reading around each student’s interest. As students read articles and books on their chosen topic, their reading comprehension and fluency begins to improve. Older students also participate in a variety of games and activities designed to reinforce what they are learning and to build their reading confidence.

Academic and Creative Writing Sessions
Academic Writing Sessions
Middle school and high school students learn strong academic writing skills by following Daniel Tutoring’s writing process. Students learn and practice the writing process by choosing a topic, researching, planing, writing, and editing a five paragraph essay.
Creative Writing Sessions
Daniel Tutoring’s creative writing instructions gives upper elementary, middle school, and high school students the opportunity to develop their writing skills and exercise their imaginations by planning and writing their own stories. Students can choose to write from a picture prompt, write a short story, or even join Daniel Tutoring’s Awesome Authors by writing and illustrating their own book!
